Quality and innovation drive everything we do in manufacturing bespoke time zone clocks and time systems for our customers. With a highly-experienced design team and enterprise-grade in-house manufacturing capabilities, we can offer bespoke intelligent time display applications across the globe for numerous industries.
History of Wharton Electronics
Wharton Electronics dates back to 1975 when two brothers - Eric and Robert Wharton - began working with national governing bodies to develop electronic stopwatches and time systems for sports events.
Wharton Electronics developed the first digital stopwatch authorised for motor racing use, which now sits in the Brooklands Museum. This is just one of many specialised timepieces used internationally in sports and leisure events, including Equestrian cross-country and carriage driving, international motor rallying and cycling.
From the very beginning until the present day, Wharton Electronics remains a family-owned business. We are proud to remain family-owned and proud to be a leading international brand within the time solutions sector.
During the 1980s and 1990s, we expanded and began working internationally, working with over 40 international partners. Our export sales account for over 70% of our production. Wharton products have been supplied to customers in more than 150 countries worldwide.
Commitment to Sustainability
At Wharton Electronics, we recognise our activities and services have an environmental impact, so we take great care to counterbalance our contributions with appropriate measures.
This includes:
- Compliance with legal/regulatory frameworks
- Minimising hazardous substance use
- Utilising eco-friendly materials
- Optimising services to use less energy
- Reducing consumption of resources
- Reusing and recycling materials where possible
- Offsetting fuel and carbon emissions
As a company, we have clear, defined Net Zero aims. While we continue to produce goods as environmentally conscious as possible, we plan to minimise our contributions year-on-year. We have always been mindful of using as few non-renewable resources as possible and have ambitious plans to become completely carbon neutral soon.
We take great pride in developing products with a proven long life, with many still in operation today after being developed decades ago. This is one of the reasons why we are thriving globally and thus forming a critical part of our ongoing environmental commitments. We offer post-warranty service support as part of our after-sales services.
