  • This range was developed for use in the broadcast industry but is also an excellent showpiece for receptions and meetings rooms and any control application where progress towards a specific seconds count is of particular importance.
  • These unique digital clocks have a multi-format outer analogue seconds ring as well as hours, minutes and seconds digits.
  • Optional signal interfaces enable the clock to synchronise with NTP, EBU, IRIG and other precision coded signal time sources.
  • The 4900x.05 model has a 12 or 24-hour time display with ultra-reliable, 50mm (2") high dot matrix characters for hours and minutes with 30mm (1.2") digits for seconds. You have a choice of blue, green, red or yellow/amber digits. The smaller 4900x.02 version is available with 20mm (0.8") high red or green digits.
  • You can select one of three analogue seconds indication modes:
    • Showing accumulating seconds markers
    • Showing three trailing seconds markers
    • Showing a single seconds marker
  • You can choose a display of time only, alternating time and temperature (requires extra cost temperature sensor) or alternating time and date.

All Wharton digital clocks have many user-selected modes of operation:

  • E and NE versions can be used in stand-alone applications using their internal time references.
  • Every standard digital clock has rear connections to enable time synchronisation using one of a wide selection of time code protocols from a Wharton 5000 series master clock or suitable third party time reference.
  • You can synchronise individual clocks with a precise satellite-based atomic time reference via a control message from a Wharton 488HS series GPS or GLONASS time signal receiver.
  • N and NE versions can be controlled and synchronised to time via their 10/100Base-t Ethernet NTP connection to your existing network with accurate time information provided by a local or internet time server for simple, low-cost installation and control.

Stopwatch operation

  • Wharton 4000 series digital clocks have time digits freely switchable between the display of time-of-day and the display of multifunction stopwatch or countdown time.
  • The stopwatch and countdown timer functions are controlled by the IR handset supplied, by an optional dedicated switch panel or by user-supplied voltage free contacts.
  • The following stopwatch and countdown timer functions are user programmable:
    • Stopwatch display modes
    • Stopwatch display resolution
    • Stopwatch count direction
    • Stop/start and hold switch actions
    • Countdown start count
    • Using external, voltage free, switch contacts - E & NE versions only
    • Network stopwatch mode - network versions only

  • The high-quality clock enclosures have a silver or black finish. Alternative colours or finishes are available at additional cost.
  • Base model clocks are suitable for freestanding or wall mounting using the multi-angled brackets supplied. Mounting options include cases for flush wall mounting and single or double-sided clocks with mounting supports for ceiling suspension.
